I love series. I love reading them and I love writing them. There's something about creating a world; not the paranomal type of world, but a town or a city or some other geographic location that binds characters together. In the Double B series, this town is SweetMeadow, Texas, and even more important the Double B cattle operation. This ranch is reported to be the biggest ranch in the USA and in some other countries (sorry King ranch, we are bigger than even you!). This ranch is still family owned and operated by the partnership of the Sampsons and the Westons. Founded decades ago by Beau Sampson and his best friends Annie and Jeb Weston; it continues to grow and flourish under the direction of their grown children and most importantly by the head of the family - Cord Weston.

The fun part about writing about these characters is knowing that even when the book ends and the hero and heroine have their happy ever after, we will get to visit with them again in the next book and books after that. Every character in this series is interwoven with the others. Its not the easiest thing in the world to write that's for sure. There's so much you have to remember; and timelines - don't even get me started! How many times I've had to go back and make sure that a pregnancy didn't go on for three years or that characters that were 25 in the first book weren't still 25 in book 6 even though several years pass. lol.

Research into romance readers finds that the majority enjoy a well written series. If you have never tried one; Debbie Macomber is the queen of series. She has written some towns I sincerely want to move to! I hope I've captured even some of her expertise and SweetMeadow, Texas is somewhere you'd like to stop by and visit.

To Tame A Cowgirl kicked off the series and is available in both ebook and print from www.thewildrosepress.com. The second book, The Cowboy Comes Home was released in January and is also available in both forms from TWRP. Coming this summer is Trouble in Texas and already this story promises to be a much wilder read than the other two.

If you read any of them, drop me a note, I love to hear what readers think or if you have suggestions for the rest of the books, let me know.

I love series too! I've enjoyed many of Debbie Macomber's. I'll be sure to read yours - they look awesome!

Roni - maybe you could take up writing soap operas. There it doesn't seem to matter if pregnancies DO go on for five years. So no need to worry about checking that pesky timeline. Best of luck catching up on those edits for your new book!

Thank you everyone! I'm so excited to see comments when I stop by. It really does make it more fun to blog. I appreciate all the notes. Yes I am a cowboy lover through and through. The WayBack, Texas series in Yellow Rose is a favorite of mine and hopefull you've checked some of those out.

Thanks for coming by.

Roni, great blog and of course I read the one below as well. The picture of you and your son caught my attention. I'm a military mom as well, Army for me. My son will deploy this June and will be gone for 15 months. I am so proud of him and at the same time so worried about him. My kudos to your son!

Hi, Roni. I love reading series romances, too. I'm into the Regency ones by Balogh and others. I think it's because the characters do become real to us. I recently tied a contemporary and a historical together by making the hero in the contemp the descendant of the couple in the historcal. I've set up a ficticious town in Texas, too and would love to write more set there.

Best of luck with your series!

Anna Kathryn

Oh I love series. I love reading them because I get invested in the characters and I want to know more about them. I love writing them too.

My series are little more paranormal, ghosts, Valkyries werewolves stuff that goes bump in the night. I'm a Wolfy Chick.

Now cowboys who happened to be werewolves would be a cool twist...

I love series, also. When the characters are strong and endearing I just don't want to leave them.

Sweetmeadow, Texas! Love the name of your town. And, like I always say about cowboys, "You gotta love 'em."

Hi Roni, Enjoyed the post. Best of luck with your series. Hope they sell like hot cakes! I enjoyed your free read at TWRP, as well as one novella in The Wayback Series. Nothing matches the ruggedness of a cowboy. As for series, I think it gives the reader or writer more to explore. I'm writing one myself, but not about cowboys.

Your son will stay in my prayers for a safe tour, to come home safe.

I love series. Writing them and reading them. You explore your characters longer and get to watch the HEA unfold for a longer period of time. Welcome to the wonderful world of blogging.

I love a good series, especially with hot cowboys! Now writing them is another matter. They can get really complicated, especially if they're in the same town along with the same characters.

I'm not going to be able to make RT this year. It sure was nice seeing you in person last year.

Hope your series sells like gangbusters!
